The best places to go on Mother's Day in Ipswich

As Mother’s Day is rapidly approaching, we wanted to provide you with some amazing places to take the matriarch of the family in and around Ipswich. Mother’s Day this year lands on the 22nd March and by then, Spring should have truly sprung by then and everyone should feel a little bit brighter. Especially as the clock go forward the week after! That’s always something to look forward to.

Palmer and Partners is a local estate and letting agents in Ipswich, with branches in Colchester, Clacton and Sudbury. In 2019 we were voted the top estate agents in the town and we are proud to have helped so many of you find your perfect home. Our expert team have been operating out of Ipswich since 2007 and as they all live in the area, they know it extremely well. This means that we know all of the good places to go. Particularly if it is to treat your mother, or you’re being treated to! We have put together the top three places that we ourselves would go to.

  1. The Red Lion. This restaurant in Woodbridge is very popular with locals, and although it is on the outskirts of Ipswich, we think it is well worth the trip. For Mother’s Day, they’re offering a three course set menu for £24.95 per person and mum can even be treated to a free gin and tonic! It’s worth going for that alone, surely?
  2. Mariners 1990 Restaurant. We love this unique restaurant. It has a great story behind it and is very popular. Everything is prepared fresh on site and is homemade. The food is incredible, and is extremely reasonably priced. They’re not doing a separate menu for Mother’s Day, however, at the weekend, you can eat from their set menu and have either two courses for £18.95 or three courses for £20.95. The menu is nicely varied and they will cater for dietary needs, you need to ensure you give them notice though if you require something specific.
  3. Salthouse Harbour Hotel. This restaurant is situated on the quay and there are stunning views from it. It gets very busy, particularly as the weather improves so you will definitely need to book if you’re looking to go Mother’s Day. Again, they haven’t got a specific menu for Mother’s Day, but, on a Sunday, you can get two courses for £20 or three courses for £25. When you look at the menu, you will find it hard to choose, as it all sounds incredible!

We hope you enjoy and appreciate our recommendations. You may have seen in the news last week that Ipswich is in the top 20 emerging destinations in the world. This is making the town more popular and thriving, meaning more people are trying to move to the area. If you’re one of those who’s looking to move, get in touch with our fantastic team today to discover what we can do for you.
