The villages local go to pub is ‘The Queen’s Head’, the pub has recently undergone an extensive refurb in order to make it a village venue to be proud of. The comprehensive revamp encompasses every single part of the establishment and continues at pace to ensure a relaxed and comfortable setting to enjoy a meal or drink. The pub now boasts a wide selection of fine drinks and delectable home-cooked food. Visitors can make the most of a large beer garden throughout Summer and cosy up to our warm fires over the course of Winter.

Steve And Lisa have made a number of improvements since they took over the pub and have made it very community orientated. It doesn’t matter if you are a regular or go there occasionally you are always made to feel welcome”.
There are many local shops and amenities including a doctor’s surgery, dentist, Co-op, cricket club & allotment. Furthermore, the village boasts an excellent primary school voted outstanding by Ofsted ‘Heathlands primary school’, as well as being within close proximity to local secondary schools.

This event is an impressive fireworks display attended by thousands of local residents and raises a large amount for the local primary school. Heathlands Primary is at the centre of the local community; not only does it provide an excellent education for the local kids but also goes out of it’s way to remain at the centre of village life putting on fates, shows and events for all. It is an event and an organisation that is close to our hearts with several members of staff having children there and we are proud to be working with them.
